From January 3 to 5, 2025, Professor Xu Minghui,Dai Bin,Chen Zhiyuan and Ke Jiannan, along with their students, attended the 15th POMS-HK International Conference in Hong Kong. The conference was held at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with the theme "OM and AI – The Next Horizon," attracting over 800 experts and scholars from renowned universities around the world to explore cutting-edge topics and development trends in the field.

During the academic exchange sessions, faculty and students from the Department of Management Science and Engineering actively participated in the conference agenda, engaging in in-depth discussions with experts and scholars from across the globe. Professor Xu Minghui was invited to chair a special session on "Sustainable Supply Chain Operations," where he organized discussions on the topic. Student Yuan Suqiu analyzed the auditing strategies and mechanism design issues faced by manufacturers under asymmetric information, while student Yan Luling shared insights into when manufacturers could benefit from "greenwashing" behavior. Students Zheng Yiwei and Song Jiawen presented their research progress on topics such as green supply chains and demand information sharing under capacity constraints. These international academic exchanges helped faculty and students stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the field, broaden their research perspectives, and sparked innovative ideas.

In addition, the Department of Management Science and Engineering organized a 3-hour recruitment event at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The four professors conducted one-on-one interviews with Ph.D. graduates from Tsinghua University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, National University of Singapore, and other institutions. They comprehensively evaluated the candidates' research directions, academic potential, and alignment with the department's focus areas. Several excellent Ph.D. candidates with international perspectives, advanced academic concepts, strong research abilities, and innovative thinking were identified, providing fresh talent for the department's future development.
The Department of Management Science and Engineering will continue to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with universities both domestically and internationally, actively participate in high-level academic conferences, and constantly improve its academic standards and international competitiveness. The department aims to drive the development of operations management-related fields to new heights and make greater contributions to the advancement of the discipline.
