Abstract:

Professor Yadong Luo will share with us some of the most pressing and most frontier issues facing international business scholars, most notably geopolitics and geo-economics, that significantly shape not merely how the world will look like but how we live up with this fragmented, fractured and fragile world from the global strategy perspective. This talk will highlight frontier research questions that are theoretically driven, societally relevant, and empirically verifiable to be probed by rising international business scholarship. Corporate strategies, such as risk intelligence, digital connectivity, multipolar geo-strategy, regional re-routing, and corporate diplomacy, among others, will be explained.

Guest Bio:

Professor Yadong Luo, currently the Emery Findlay Distinguished Chair Professor at the University of Miami, is one of the most outstanding Chinese scholars in global management academia. Professor Luo has published over 20 books and more than 200 research papers, including over 60 articles in journals listed in the UTD journal rankings. He is a Fellow of both the Academy of Management (AOM) and the Academy of International Business (AIB), as well as a Senior Editor of the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS). He previously served as Dean of the School of Business at Sun Yat-sen University. According to Google Scholar, Professor Luo has an h-index of 116, and his work has been cited over 60,000 times.
